Sophos Tracks Cybersecurity Threats in Nigerian And Foreign Organizations

Sophos conducted some findings on organizations across 26 countries:

It consisted of 5,000 respondents from organizations between 100 and 5,000 users, from different sectors.

Phishing and malware remain significantly dangerous to organizations. They’ve cost businesses billions of dollars around the world. Sadly, as malware strains develop, new scam ideas are also invented.

Cybercriminals are very aware of the sophisticated technology organizations use for anti-malware and threat detection.

However, they know that effectiveness largely depends on how employees use them.

Unfortunately, working from home now poses a threat to company information. It increases exposure to malware and phishing threats.

This can happen when an employee fails to install a new software or operating system, sends data through an insecure network, uses a weak password, or relies solely on email and online messaging.

Based on research conducted by Sophos, organizations in countries like US, UK and UAE are well ahead of others in terms of outsourcing IT security and improving IT efficiency and scalability.
